Odisha Association for Rowing and Sculling (OARS) is all set to host the 33rd Junior National and 1st Master National Rowing Championships at SAG Watersports Complex, Jagatpur (Cuttack) on Birupa Regatta Course from November 7 to 10. Around 250 rowers from 20 states are expected to participate in four events of the Junior National Championship, OARS president Binod Dash announced in a press conference at Barabati Stadium here today. The four events include single scull, double scull, coxless pair and coxless four in both boys and girls categories for 1000 metre each in four lanes. An 11-member squad, including eight girls will represent Odisha in the Junior National Championship. The Master National Championship, meant for veteran rowers above 45 years of age, will feature competition in double scull and coxless pair. Rowers from six state are expected to compete in this championship. Odisha Governor M C Bhandare and Chhattisgarh Governor Shekar Dutt would be inaugurating the Junior and Master Nationals respectively. OARS chief patron K P Singh Deo would grace the closing ceremonies of both the championships at chief guest.
