Chandaneswar Temple

Just eight kilometers from Digha, a famous sea retreat for average Bengalis and old temple of Shiva in the district of Balasore. This temple is old and do have its share of mythology and folklore surrounding its creation and its journey through time.

The fine white sands of Puri beach and the roar of the breakers rolling in from the Bay of Bengal have fascinated visitors throughout the ages. As it is with all the beaches of Orissa, overcrowding is never a problem and the sight of holiday-makers having entire stretches of the beach to themselves is not uncommon.

Puri is a small town in the east Sea Coast of orrisa and the headquarters of Puri district. Puri is renowned in the country and abroad as one of the famous pilgrim centre.

The Sarala Temple is located 60 km from Cuttack, at Jhankad in Orissa, at a distance of 15 km from Jagatsinghpur town. The main deity of the temple is Goddess Sarala. Here Goddess Saraswati is worshipped as Godess Sarala. Sri Mahabishuba Sankranti, and Raja Sankranti are the main festivals celebrated here.

This Vesha is done everyday after Mangal Alati for the Abakash rituals.The clothes which are worn by the deities for this purpose are known as "Tadapa" and "Uttariya".

This the last Vesha of the deities done everyday before the night "Pahuda". Bada Srungar Vesha is mostly of flowers of different colours and species.The deities wear silk clothes called `Khandua`.

It is done on the 12th day of the bright fortnight of Kartika.

Lord Jagannath, the symbol of universal love and brotherhood is worshipped in the Temple at Puri alongwith Balabhadra & Subhadra.

On the 11th day in the bright fortnight of Ashada, Suna Vesha takes place, when the deities are in their respective chariots near the Lion`s gate of the SHREE JAGANNATH Temple. The deities are decorated with many gold ornaments.
