Devakund

"Deokund” or “Devakund” derives its name from one of the tank of the five natural tanks nestled amidst verdant hill and mountains surrounding Similipal National Park.

The Baitarani River

The Baitarani River is one of six major rivers of Orissa, India.The Baitarani originates from the Guptaganga hills in Gonasika of Keonjhar district in Orissa state of India at an elevation of 900 m above sea level. The uppermost part of the river, about 80 km in length, flows in a northerly direction; then it changes its path suddenly by 900 and flows eastward.

Dhanu Yatra

Dhanu Yatra is celebrated as a commemoration of Lord Krishna’s visit to Mathura. It is a distinctive form of annual festivity, in which the small isolated Bargah town of Orissa turns into a massive open-air theatre. The basic idea behind this festival is to celebrate the victory of Lord Krishna over his autocrat uncle Kansa, who was a very cruel man. During the Dhanu yatra period, Bargah serves as the classic town Mathura, which is also the place where Lord Krishna took birth.

Jai Jagannath

Jagannath is a Hindu deity, considered amongst Vaishnavas to be a form of Krishna or Vishnu. The oldest and most famous Jagannath deity is in the city of Puri, in Orissa, India.

Gudguda Waterfall

Gudguda is situated in Sambalpur District of Orissa. An ideal getaway, the place is noted for the Gudguda waterfall surrounded by dense forest. Nearest town is Kuchinda, which is around 50 km north-east of district headquarters, Sambalpur.
