The Pradhanpat hill, with its picturesque waterfall, offers a rare scenic beauty. These falls are close to Deogarh, and arearound 100 km from Sambalpur.

South of Puri, the sea mixes in with Chilika Lake to create the largest brackish water lake in Asia, and a spot of enchanting beauty. These shallow waters enclose an immense area of marshes, lowlands, and islands.A number of islands dot the expanse of the lake.

A favorites dance of the Mayurbhanja district, chow which has traces of tribal, folk and classical dances, appears to be a rendition of non-verbal theatre, with the legs and body moving flexibly to convey the themes drawn form the Ramayana and Mahabharata, the great Indian epics. A favourite theme in chow is Krishna and the Gopis.

The koya women hole sticks fitted with bells (gujari) made of brass and beat on the ground while dancing. The bating of the sticks after the steppings is indigenous to the Koya dance. Male participants wear turbans fitted with bison horns and play huge drums (dhols) hung around their necks.

Age has not withered the beauty and dynamic diversity of Orissa’s traditional arts and craft stemming form centuries of exquisite craftsmanship, they are a colourful testimony to the integral life force amongst an ancient people.

Trakashi, or silver filigree form Cuttack region, is one of the most exquisite renditions of silver craft. Beaten silver is drawn into fine wires and foils which are then fashioned together to create jewellery of infinite beauty.

The ruins of a medieval fort with its moat and gate and the earthern mound of the nine-storeyed palace on the bank of the river Mahanadi are noteworthy. Adjacent to the fort is a modern stadium.

Paradip is one of the Major Ports of India and is the main out-let and in-let of the sea- borne trade of the eastern part of the country spread over States such as Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal.

This is the palace of ex-Ruler of Boudh locally known as Rajabati. This was constructed during the reign of Raja Jogindra Dev ,who was benevolent and generous ruler.
